Featuring New York's Metta Quintet

One of the most prolific, celebrated musicians in music history, Duke Ellington’s canon comprises a timeless, highly personal aural account of both the human condition and the African-American experience of the 20th century. Through the creative integration of live music, captivating video projections, live narration and numerous audience participation segments, JazzReach’s Ellington! introduces new generations to a wide variety of Duke’s many musical achievements, from hit songs to blues riffs to extended suites and scores for stage and screen.

Whether you're a jazz aficionado, or a complete newbie, this concert is a great way to learn more, and enjoy more, about jazz and the music of Duke Ellington.

JazzReach is an enterprising New York organization dedicated to educating children and adults in their appreciation of jazz. JazzReach's resident ensemble, The Metta Quintet, is comprised of some of today's brightest emerging jazz stars.

In addition to the concert on the 26th, the members of the band will do 11 workshops in local schools for more than 1300 elementary students.
