Featuring New York’s Metta Quintet

A multi-media celebration of the groundbreaking music and artists of Latin jazz.

Through the creative integration of live music, captivating video projections and live narration, JazzReach’s Con Alma y Fuego (“With Soul and Fire”) traverses the origins and evolution of Latin jazz, highlighting the contributions and music of artists such as Machito, Dizzy Gillespie, Tito Puente, Antonio Carlos Jobim and Irakere.

JazzReach is an enterprising New York organization dedicated to educating both children and adults in their appreciation of jazz. JazzReach's resident ensemble, The Metta Quintet, is comprised of some of today's brightest emerging jazz stars.

Recommended for age 12 and up.

This project received support from California Arts Council, WESTAF (the Western States Arts Federation), and the National Endowment for the Arts.
