Tomo No Kai: Kane No Ne
Dance, World cultures, Music
Presented by Tomo No Kai, a registered campus organization at the University of California, Irvine
Sunday, April 30, 2017

Tomo No Kai is the Japanese/Japanese-American social and cultural club at UC Irvine. The 30th Annual Cultural Night, Kane No Ne, features performances from Skit, Tomo Tones, Odori - the Japanese traditional dancing group, Jodaiko the Taiko drumming ensemble, Tomo Modern, and the STTOMPS grand finale.

The narrative of Culture Night focuses on several themes: voting with your heart for the greater good and standing behind your cultural beliefs. The performance will also showcase the various experiences of characters, who, when burdened by individual struggle, help one another.

We are brought together by a sense of community and a culture rich in history - a culture which shapes our identities.  It should never be taken for granted.
